April 4th, 2018 Dinner Club

"Crisis in Biomedical Research: Time for Reform?"

"Understanding the Role of Apicoplast Metabolism in Plasmodium falciparum"

Guest lecturer: Arturo Casadevall, MD, PhD, Professor and Chair, Molecular Microbiology & Immunology, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Student speaker: Cyrianne Keutcha, BA, Post-baccalaureate Scholar/Research Technologist, Molecular Microbiology & Immunology, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Buffet meal begins at 6:00pm with lecture starting at 7:00pm. Spouses, prospective members, students and other guests are cordially welcome! The buffet meal is $25 for TMDC full paid membership members, $30.00 for Non-TMDC members, residents and fellows are $15.00 and undergraduates/graduate students are $10. Meals can be paid by cash or personal check made out to “JHU”. Student/Residents/Fellows meal costs do not vary
whether they have a paid membership or not.

Students can receive a discounted meal rate of $8.00-Postdocs discounted meal rate of $13.00 if prepaid by credit card. Payment is due by 4:00pm on Friday, March 30th. After which, payments can only be made the night of the lecture by check or cash. Payment form attached to email.

Deadline for RSVP to maryann.smith@jhu.edu is 4:00pm on Friday, March 30th. Confirmations for registrations will be sent out no later than Tuesday, April 3rd. Seating is limited – talk only or walk-ins will be accepted only if space is available!
